The Role
We are seeking an Estate Planning and Commercial Lawyer with at least 4 years’ post-admission experience to join our Gold Coast team.
The role offers a varied mix of estate planning and commercial work and would suit a solicitor who enjoys working directly with clients and professional advisers.
You will be expected to manage matters with a high degree of autonomy while working closely with the firm’s director.
The successful candidate will take a practical,
professional and client-focused approach and will be comfortable working across both estate planning and commercial matters.
Key Responsibilities
Your work may include:
- meeting with clients and taking instructions both remotely and in person
- preparing Wills, testamentary trusts, enduring powers of attorney and advance health directives;
- advising on estate planning and succession planning strategies;
- drafting and negotiating shareholders agreements and unitholders agreements;
- preparing business sale, share sale and unit sale agreements;
- drafting loan agreements, mortgages and other security documents;
- preparing and reviewing commercial and retail shop leases;
- liaising with accountants, financial advisers and other professional advisers; and
- conducting legal research and preparing clear written advice.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- at least 4 years’ post-admission experience;
- demonstrated experience in estate planning, commercial law or a combination of both;
- confidence managing matters and working directly with clients and professional advisers;
- a positive and friendly approach to working within a team.
