We're now seeking an experienced, passionate, and hands-on Deli/Dairy Manager to lead and oversee operations in our Deli, Cheese Bar, and Dairy departments for our store in Roxburgh Park

About the Role

As the Deli/Dairy Manager, you'll take full ownership of the deli and dairy operations, driving product quality, customer satisfaction, and team performance. You will bring your deep knowledge of smallgoods, cheeses, gourmet deli items, and dairy products to create an outstanding customer experience while ensuring compliance with food safety and business standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the end-to-end operations of the Deli, Cheese Bar, and Dairy departments
- Manage product selection, ordering, supplier relationships, and stock control across deli and dairy ranges
- Maintain exceptional product quality, presentation, and availability, including correct cold chain and temperature control for dairy lines
- Monitor stock rotation and manage shelf life/date codes to minimise wastage across perishable dairy products




- Lead and mentor deli and dairy staff to ensure high performance and development
- Drive outstanding customer service standards and in-store experience
- Monitor and maintain full compliance with Food Safety and WHS regulations, including cold storage and refrigeration standards
- Develop and manage rosters to ensure efficient team coverage and labour costs across both departments
- Analyse and report on sales performance, with a focus on increasing profitability across deli and dairy
- Implement merchandising strategies and product promotions, including seasonal dairy ranging and category planning

What We're Looking For

- Extensive knowledge and experience in deli operations and smallgoods; dairy category experience highly regarded
- Proven leadership or management experience in a retail or food environment
- Robust understanding of food safety standards, HACCP, WHS regulations, and cold chain compliance
- A commitment to exceptional customer service and team collaboration
- Experience with ordering, inventory management, and stock control across perishable categories
- Ability to drive sales, profitability, and achieve department targets
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on leadership style with a proactive and positive attitude
- Flexibility to work weekends and early morning shifts as required
