The Trustees of the De La Salle Brothers ANZPPNG District are seeking an experienced Senior Project Officer to lead a diverse portfolio of governance, policy, HR and organisational reform projects. This is a rare opportunity to work directly with senior leadership and make a lasting impact within a respected, values-based organisation operating across Australia, Recent Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Pakistan.

As we continue to strengthen our governance, systems and organisational capability, we are investing in a senior project professional who can independently deliver complex initiatives that improve the way we work.
About the role
This is not a role where projects are handed to a team for delivery. This is a genuinely hands-on, standalone position. You will be given strategic objectives and expected to independently research, scope, plan, present and implement projects from concept through to completion with minimal supervision.
Success in this role requires someone who is naturally curious,
highly organised and comfortable working where information is incomplete. You will confidently engage stakeholders, identify what is needed, develop practical solutions and maintain momentum until outcomes are achieved.
Projects may include
- Governance reform and organisational improvement
- Draft, consult and implement of organisational policies and procedures
- HR compliance, workforce and organisational change initiatives
- Safeguarding and compliance projects
- Records management and accountability frameworks
- Committee governance, reporting and implementation of strategic initiatives
Key responsibilities
- Independently manage multiple projects from concept to completion
- Research legislation, governance requirements and best practice
- Develop business cases, project plans, implementation schedules and risk registers
- Prepare high-quality briefing papers, reports and committee papers
- Present recommendations to senior leaders and committees
- Lead stakeholder consultation and change implementation
- Monitor project outcomes and recommend continuous improvements
- Maintain project documentation and implementation trackers
About you
You are a highly capable generalist project professional who enjoys solving complex organisational problems. Rather than waiting for direction, you identify what needs to be done, build the roadmap and deliver results.
You will ideally bring:
- Demonstrated experience independently delivering complex projects
- Strong HR experience, particularly policy development and organisational change
- Excellent project management, research and analytical skills
- Outstanding written communication and report-writing ability
- Confidence presenting to executives, Boards or committees
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- The ability to thrive in ambiguous environments with minimal supervision
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Highly regarded
- Experience in governance, compliance or organisational reform
- Experience within the not-for-profit, education, faith-based or community sectors
- Experience supporting Boards, Councils or governance committees
- Knowledge of safeguarding frameworks
