About the Role:
Saltbush Social Enterprises is seeking a compassionate and experienced Social and Emotional Wellbeing Worker to join our Indigenous Skills and Employment Program (ISEP) in Darwin.
As the Social and Emotional Wellbeing Worker, you'll provide strengths-based, culturally responsive and trauma-informed support to participants experiencing a range of personal and social challenges.
Working closely with Mentors, Employment Consultants and external service providers, you'll undertake assessments, develop personalised support plans,
coordinate referrals and provide therapeutic support to improve wellbeing and employment outcomes.
You’ll also contribute to building trauma-informed capability across the wider team through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver culturally safe, trauma-informed wellbeing support
- Conduct strengths-based assessments and develop individual support plans
- Coordinate referrals and collaborate with internal and external support services
- Provide therapeutic interventions, advocacy and crisis support where appropriate
- Support participants to build resilience and achieve positive wellbeing outcomesMaintain accurate case notes, reports and program documentation
- Mentor colleagues and promote trauma-informed practice across the program
About You:
You are an experienced and compassionate wellbeing professional who is committed to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through culturally safe practice.
You will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Counselling or a related discipline
- Current professional registration where applicable
- Experience delivering trauma-informed support or counselling services
- A robust understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and culturally safe practice
- Experience supporting individuals with complex needs
- Excellent communication, advocacy and stakeholder engagement skills
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Employment Requirements:
Successful applicants will hold or be able to obtain:
- National Police Clearance (issued within the last three months)
- NT Working with Children (OCHRE) Card
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and professional registration (where applicable)
