Role Overview
If you’re a proactive professional with strong communicationskills, a solid understanding of environmental health legislation,and a commitment to making a difference, we’d love to hear fromyou.
In this role you will be responsible for promoting andregulating public health standards across the City, monitoringcompliance with key legislation including the Health (MiscellaneousProvisions) Act 1911, Public Health Act 2016, and Food Act2008.
You’ll conduct inspections, respond to health-related servicerequests, provide expert advice, and contribute to the planning andapproval of public events.
This role also involves supportingcontinuous improvement initiatives, engaging with the community,and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders todeliver high-quality environmental health services.
Qualifications
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, withthe ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders and thecommunity, and to provide quality customer service throughstrong written, verbal, and negotiation abilities.
- Experience administrating and enforcing the suite of Acts,Regulations, Standards and Codes applicable to EnvironmentalHealth services in Western Australia.
- Qualification in Environmental Health (as deemed acceptableby the Chief Health Officer in accordance with section 18 ofthe Public Health Act 2016) to enable appointment as anEnvironmental Health Officer.
