About The Role

We are looking for an Associate with between 1 to 2 years of post‑qualification experience in employment law to focus on contentious and non‑contentious matters. The ideal candidate will have an employment background along with strong interest in this practice area, gained within a large‑scale international or regional top‑tier firm.

Key Responsibilities

- Advising on workforce conduct issues and other internal issues including carrying out fact‑finding and internal investigations on behalf of clients, including implementing recommendations.
- Advising clients on compliance with local laws and regulations; instructing and liaising with correspondent law firms across the region.
- Acting for and advising global, multinational, and local clients on a range of issues, including start‑up employment infrastructure, corporate governance and senior executive incentive schemes.
- Advising clients on large‑scale restructuring exercises including employee communications and drafting documents.
- Advising clients on structuring issues.
- Providing advice and support to clients on a full range of employment issues, including recruitment and sponsorship procedures, remuneration and benefits packages, grievance and disciplinary procedures and issues arising on the termination of employment.
- Supporting the corporate department with employment issues arising out of transactions, such as undertaking employment due diligence, drafting warranties and indemnities in agreements and the transfer of employees.
- Drafting and amending employment contracts, employee handbooks,



policies and procedures and other employment‑related documentation.
- Advising clients across a range of sectors including energy, transport, mining & resources, construction & engineering, insurance and reinsurance, financial services, telecommunications and information technology on employment‑specific issues arising in these sectors.
- Defending clients on large‑scale and complex employment disputes in the local courts and in the financial centres.
- Advising clients on settlement of disputes and drafting settlement agreements.
- Advising clients on immigration matters.

Candidate Requirements

- Have gained experience working on employment‑related matters. Australia‑wide experience would be an advantage.
- Have experience of working at a large‑scale international or regional top‑tier law firm.
- Demonstrate capability at a commensurate level to interact confidently with clients.
- Have attained a degree certificate(s) from a reputed institution, maintaining strong academic performance.
- Have a mature and flexible personality, and be able to work well within a team.
- Be self‑motivated and possess a very pro‑active attitude toward completing jobs.
