We're hiring a Field Team Leader to run the field for a growing Sydney commercial HVAC business – a working leadership role across service, maintenance and small projects. On the tools most days, leading the team on top, with the authority and training to grow into the seat.

Fletchair Services is a Sydney commercial HVAC and mechanical contractor – planned maintenance, reactive service, and plant replacement and upgrade projects across commercial property, education, hotels and industrial portfolios. This is a genuine leadership seat with real scope. You'll own technical delivery in the field and have the authority to run it, a direct line to the owner, and systems that keep the admin off your plate so your time goes to the work and the team.

The role

You’ll lead technical delivery across service and projects, stay hands‑on with the tough diagnostic work, and be the first point of call for the team.

Leading the team

- Lead, mentor and develop the technicians and apprentices – building their diagnostic skill and workmanship, and helping bring the next apprentice through
- Be the first point of call and technical escalation when a fault won't give up
- Allocate and sequence the daily work across service, maintenance and projects, working in with operations on scheduling
- Help embed our standards, systems and the way we do things across the field team

Service and diagnostics

- Diagnose, service and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration plant – chillers, FCUs, VRF/VRV, AHUs, packaged and split systems
- Handle the complex fault-finding
- Keep preventative maintenance on schedule and to contract
- Quote service and repair work and small installs direct to the client
- Order the materials, plant and parts for service and project works
- Get service reports, call reports and timesheets in the same day




- Run small replacement and upgrade works end to end – mobilisation through to handover
- Sequence works around live, occupied buildings – hotels, tenanted commercial, active workplaces
- Price project variations, and get commissioning, testing and handover documentation right first time

Safety and clients

- Run toolbox talks and site inspections, and hold the team to WHS and site rules
- Build relationships with facilities and building managers on site – reliable delivery is what wins the next job

About you

- Certificate III in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration and a current ARCtick refrigerant handling licence
- Sound technical and fault-finding skills, with solid commercial HVAC experience behind you
- Chiller experience is a bonus, not essential – we'll back the right person to build it
- Ready for your first real step into leadership – you don't need to have run a team before, but you want to, and you're the one people already look to on site
- Commercial mechanical services and preventative maintenance are your world, not residential
- White Card and a current Australian driver's licence
- You hold yourself accountable, you communicate honestly without the fuss, and you take pride in doing the job properly
