The Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania’s largest hospital and a major referral centre, working closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions.

Responsibilities

- Care for patients in the wards, including a daily ward round.
- Attend specialist and registrar ward rounds and record all decisions made in the patient’s medical history.
- Provide timely responses to calls from the patient’s care team.
- Ensure consultations occur when requested.
- Interact with families or carers of hospital patients.
- Accurately record drugs and treatment.
- Check and sign result sheets for investigations.
- Undertake procedures as required.
- Hold a current driver’s licence.





Qualifications & Requirements

- Registration with the Medical Board of Australia and eligibility for employment as a Senior Resident Medical Officer.
- Eligibility for pre‑employment checks, including conviction checks for crimes of violence, sex‑related offences, reliable drug offences, and crimes involving dishonesty, and a check for disciplinary action in previous employment.

Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award/Agreement 2025, Medical Practitioner Level 5‑11 (Registrar/Senior Registrar)

$121,540 per annum

Fixed‑term, full‑time employment from 1 February 2027 to 7 February 2028, 76 hours per fortnight.
