About the Role
The role of an experienced Accountant or Senior Accountant involves providing professional accounting services to a diverse range of family‑owned businesses, investment structures, high‑net‑wealth groups, and inbound international clients, including significant global entities. The position offers exposure to numerous clients across a broad range of industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare a range of financial statements in accordance with regulatory, accounting and financial reporting standards.
- Prepare clear and concise work papers.
- Supervise junior staff on certain jobs, as appropriate.
- Review completed tax and FBT returns for compliance, and identify non‑compliance issues arising from them.
- Perform tax planning for clients.
- Prepare tax returns for all entities.
- Prepare Business Activity Statements.
- Manage quarterly and annual tax compliance matters.
- Assist with advice to clients across a range of taxation, business operations and regulatory matters.
- Liaise directly with clients and the ATO.
- Handle general business administration.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Team player committed to supporting team members and joining in the vibrant culture.
- CA or CPA qualification or nearly completed (CA desirable).
- 3‑4 years of business services/tax experience (mid‑tier experience desirable).
- Client focused with strong commitment to quality service and client relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish professional relations with internal and external clients.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving ability.
- Ability to multitask and effectively manage individual and team workflow.
- Self‑motivated, takes responsibility for personal and professional development.
- Excellent attention to detail and proactive approach to work.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience with Xero desired.
