Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Receivable / Rates Officer to join a collaborative and supportive finance team on the North Coast of NSW . This is an excellent chance for someone with rates, revenue or utility billing experience who is looking to take the next step in their career while contributing to meaningful outcomes for the community.

This role offers the chance to play a key part in strengthening and modernising the organisation's rates function. You'll work alongside an experienced leadership team committed to continuous improvement, customer service and building efficient, sustainable processes.

About the Role

As a Senior Accounts Receivable/ Rates Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the rates function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of rates transactions while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities include:

- Managing the day-to-day rates function
- Preparing and processing rates notices and billing activities
- Processing property and rating transactions
- Maintaining the Name and Address Register (NAR)
- Responding to customer enquiries professionally and efficiently
- Assisting with auditing and reconciliation activities
- Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and service delivery




- Working collaboratively across the wider finance team

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, has excellent attention to detail and genuinely cares about delivering outstanding customer service.

You’ll ideally bring:

- Previous experience in rates, revenue, property administration, utilities billing or a similar environment
- A customer-first mindset with excellent communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to interpret legislation, policies and procedures
- Confidence working with financial or property systems
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement
- A professional, collaborative attitude and willingness to learn

Local government experience is highly regarded but not essential.
