Who are we looking for?
We are seeking motivated and experienced Oral Health Therapist/Dental Therapist who are committed to supporting the delivery of safe, high‑quality and patient‑centred oral health care for eligible children and adults within Oral Health Services Tasmania (OHST).
The successful applicants will work under the direction of registered dental practitioners to support clinical care, oral health promotion activities and preventative programs, while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary public oral health service.
Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to:
- Support the provision of dental services for children and adults by providing effective chairside assistance and clinical support in accordance with delegated scope of practice, OHST policies and clinical guidelines.
- Assist clinicians in delivering oral health education, health promotion initiatives and preventative programs for patients, families, carers and communities.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and assist with the collection and entry of dental records,
statistical data and other required information in line with organisational and legislative requirements.
- Contribute to a positive learning environment through participation in training, professional development activities and team meetings.
- Support team development by working collaboratively with colleagues and assisting current or less experienced staff where required.
Salary
$81,614 - $117,074 per annum (pro rata). Our employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2025.
Eligibility
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Dental Board of Australia.
- Registered with the Dental Board of Australia.
- Current Working with Children Registration.
