Your new company An established and growing bookkeeping and advisory firm in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs is seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join their busy and supportive team.Working with a portfolio of clients across a range of industries, there will be a particular strong focus on supporting legal firms and solicitors, making previous experience working with legal clients essential. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically solid bookkeeper who enjoys managing client relationships, solving problems and providing high-quality financial support to businesses.

Your new role
Managing a portfolio of bookkeeping clients, with a particular focus on legal practices
End-to-end bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
Trust accounting and trust reconciliations in line with legal industry requirements
Preparation and lodgement of BAS, IAS and payroll tax
Payroll processing and related compliance obligations
Month-end reporting and management accounts
Cash flow management and forecasting
Liaising directly with clients, accountants and external stakeholders
Assisting with process improvements and implementation of best practice bookkeeping procedures




Supporting clients with accounting software queries and system optimisation

What you'll need to succeed
Proven experience as a Senior Bookkeeper within a public practice, bookkeeping or accounting services environment
Previous experience managing bookkeeping for legal firms is essential
Strong understanding of trust accounting and legal industry compliance requirements
Experience managing multiple clients simultaneously
Strong knowledge of Xero and cloud-based accounting systems
Sound understanding of GST, BAS, payroll and bookkeeping compliance obligations
Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
Highly organised with robust attention to detail
Ability to work autonomously while remaining a team-oriented team player
