Working within a highly regarded legal team, you will partner closely with senior commercial and project stakeholders, providing strategic legal advice across the full lifecycle of major projects.

The Role
This role will see you provide commercially focused legal support across a portfolio of complex construction and infrastructure projects.
You will work closely with project, commercial and executive stakeholders, advising on procurement, contract negotiation, project delivery, risk management and dispute avoidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include:
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of construction and project agreements.
Advising project teams on contractual rights, obligations, risk allocation and commercial strategy.
Providing legal support throughout procurement, delivery and completion of major infrastructure projects.
Advising on contract administration, variations, claims, delay, defects and other project delivery matters.




Supporting dispute avoidance strategies and assisting with the management of contractual issues as they arise.
Managing external legal advisers where specialist advice is required.
Building trusted relationships across the business while providing practical, commercially focused legal advice.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have4-12 years' PAE, gained within a leading law firm or an in-house legal team.
This opportunity will suit lawyers with strong front-end construction or infrastructure experience who enjoy working closely with project teams and providing pragmatic commercial advice.
Due to the nature of the projects, applicantsmust be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
You will also bring:
Strong experience drafting and negotiating construction and infrastructure contracts.
Experience advising on major projects and complex commercial transactions.
A sound understanding of project delivery and contract administration.
A commercial mindset with the ability to balance legal risk against business outcomes.
Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across the business.
Robust communication skills, sound judgement and a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.
