About the Role
The College is seeking a Head of English and Literature to commence in **** in an ongoing position. We invite current and emerging leaders to consider this exciting leadership opportunity at the College.
Primary responsibilities include:
Overseeing the academic program in English and Literature across Years 7–12
Leading and managing a large teaching team to successfully deliver quality teaching and learning experiences
Driving improvement in literacy outcomes and academic achievement across the College
Promoting excellence in English and Literature education within the College community
About You
Our ideal candidate will be appropriately qualified, hold current TRBWA registration and WWC clearance in addition to demonstrating:
A commitment to the Mission, Vision and Values of Corpus Christi College and the capacity to lead through the Catholic model
Passion for English and Literature education and a commitment to fostering curiosity, critical thinking, creativity and a love of lifelong learning
Demonstrated expertise in contemporary curriculum, pedagogy and assessment practices, with a strong understanding of educational research and evidence-informed teaching
Proven leadership capacity, including the ability to inspire, mentor and coach staff, build leadership capability and foster a positive, collaborative team culture
Demonstrated ability to lead innovation, manage change effectively and drive continuous improvement aligned with the College's strategic priorities
Robust strategic, organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to plan effectively, prioritise competing demands and deliver outcomes
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to build authentic relationships with students, staff, families and the wider community
A growth mindset, characterised by initiative, adaptability, reflective practice and a commitment to ongoing professional learning and development
Demonstrated experience as an outstanding practitioner of English education and the ability to teach English and/or Literature across secondary year levels
