The Role
Applecross SHS is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Home Economics and Hospitality teacher who ideally is proactive, passionate, and able to collaborate effectively within a team.
The successful applicant should ideally have high expectations, a strong commitment to excellence, and use diverse teaching methods to create and maintain a positive, engaging classroom environment.
Applicants who show flexibility and adaptability, especially in applying differentiated instruction and explicit teaching strategies, will be highly regarded.
The successful applicant should display strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to promote the school's values and priorities.
Building positive relationships with students and a passion for shaping their futures are highly regarded.
The role iideally requires a performance-driven, evidence-based approach to decision-making.
The position includes teaching Home Economics subjects from Years 8 to 12, and with responsibility for delivering Certificate II in Hospitality.
The successful applicant ideally must either hold a Certificate II in Hospitality or demonstrate current industry experience.
Additionally,



applicants ideally should hold either the Certificate IV in TAE, TAESS***** Assessor Skill Set, TAESS***** Assessor Skill Set, or TAESS***** VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set, to be able to train and assess in any VET context independently.
