A.B. Paterson College is pleased to offer an opportunity for a current member of our College community to step into the role of Acting Assistant Head of Faculty – Health and Physical Education. This is a full-time temporary leadership opportunity commencing end of Term 3, 2026 and concluding at the end of Term 2, 2027.

In this role, you will support the leadership and strategic direction of the HPE Faculty while continuing to deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned learning experiences that inspire students to achieve their personal best. We are seeking a collaborative and innovative educator with a commitment to academic excellence, student wellbeing, and high-quality teaching and learning.

The ability to build strong relationships, mentor colleagues, and contribute positively to faculty initiatives will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

/n

/n

- Support the leadership and strategic direction of the Health and Physical Education Faculty.

/n

- Assist the Head of Faculty in the implementation of curriculum, assessment, and reporting practices across the HPE Faculty.

/n

- Model and promote excellence in teaching and learning through contemporary and evidence-informed practice.

/n

- Mentor and support colleagues to foster collaboration, professional growth, and continuous improvement.

/n

- Contribute to faculty planning, review processes, and the achievement of College and faculty goals.

/n

- Maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents, promoting a culture of respect, inclusion, and high expectations.

/n





- Contribute to the College's pastoral care and co-curricular programs, supporting students' holistic development

What We're Looking For

- Demonstrated leadership capability or a desire to further develop leadership experience.

/n

- Solid knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and QCAA syllabus within Health and Physical Education.

/n

- A commitment to high-quality teaching, learning, and student wellbeing.

/n

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

/n

- The ability to mentor, support, and collaborate effectively with colleagues.

/n

- A proactive approach to innovation and continuous improvement.

/n

- Strong organisational and administrative skills.

/n

- Up-to-date skills in the use of IT and digital learning technologies.

/n

- Current CPR and First Aid training, or willingness to obtain.

/n

- Current Teacher Registration is a requirement of this position
