Temporary, Fulltime role (35 hrs) or two part‑time roles (21 hrs and 14 hrs per week) up to August 2028

Psychologist, Salary ($79,592 - $139,824 pa/pro rata) plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your Role

- Operate as a member of a multi‑disciplinary team, delivering psychological assessment, intervention and therapeutic services in youth justice community and custodial settings.
- Provide consultancy services to staff regarding the psychological needs of Youth Justice clients within custodial and community locations, and advise statutory authorities such as the Parole Board.

What you’ll do

- Undertake psychological assessment, intervention, and deliver therapeutic services or programmes to young people who offend, including those who sexually offend.
- Assist in formulation and review of individual Risk‑Needs‑Responsivity case plans for management and supervision of young people on remand or sentenced to a custodial or community order.
- Deliver training to staff, including Youth Justice Caseworkers, on screening, identification and support of young people with mental health problems, intellectual disability or cognitive impairment.
- Maintain confidential documentation,



including electronic Case Notes on the Client Information Management System, in accordance with departmental policies, APS guidelines on record keeping and professional ethics.
- Prepare reports, advice and consultation for statutory authorities such as Children’s Courts, the Serious Young Offenders Review Panel, State Parole Authority, and Mental Health Review Tribunal.
- Be dynamic and able to think on the feet.
- Be responsive to individual needs and situations.

What we’re looking for

- Current provisional or full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Current Drivers’ Licence with ability and willingness to travel throughout NSW.
- Current NSW Working with Children Check clearance.
- Appointments are subject to reference checks.
- Mandatory National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014 may also be required.
