About the Opportunity
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of Aboriginal children and families across the Central Coast. As an Occupational Therapist within the Ngaliya Ngara Aboriginal Family Service, you will provide culturally safe, evidence-informed assessment and intervention that supports children's development, participation and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver occupational therapy assessment and intervention for children and their families, supporting participation, development and independence in everyday activities.
- Provide advanced clinical care for children with complex developmental, behavioural and functional needs, using evidence-based practice and independent clinical judgement.
- Work closely with families, schools, community services and multidisciplinary teams to develop and coordinate holistic care plans.
- Contribute to service improvement through quality improvement initiatives, clinical supervision, student support and evidence-informed practice.
- Support positive outcomes for Aboriginal children and families through culturally responsive, family-centred care delivered across community and health settings.
- Have a passion for improving the health, wellbeing and developmental outcomes of Aboriginal children, families and communities through culturally safe and family-centred practice.
- Holds qualifications in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Have experience providing occupational therapy assessment and intervention for children and families, including those with complex developmental or behavioural needs.
- Enjoy working collaboratively with families, multidisciplinary teams and community partners to achieve positive and meaningful outcomes.
- Bring strong clinical reasoning, communication and organisational skills, with a commitment to continuous learning, quality improvement and professional development.
