About The Role

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger for the Group’s retail businesses. The role involves financial integrity, acting as a bridge between onshore Business Units and the offshore team, and supporting the transition and stand‑up of retail accounting processes in the offshore team as part of the new SAP ERP implementation.

Stakeholder Management

- Drive business partnerships with Retail Business Unit teams (FP&A;, Commercial Finance, Operations Finance, eCommerce Finance and non‑finance teams) to refine management reporting frameworks.
- Coach and build capability across the offshore team to enhance technical and business acumen.

Financial Reporting & Month‑End

- Ensure financial integrity and timely delivery of all journals, reconciliations and reporting packages.
- Maintain oversight of group reporting standards, including OneStream submission integrity and consolidation of P&L; and balance sheet data.
- Serve as subject‑matter expert for complex retail activities, resolving high‑impact accounting challenges.

System & Process Delivery, Improvement & Projects

- Lead new ERP testing, defect management and post‑go‑live system enhancements.
- Drive pre‑ and post‑go‑live ERP processes and optimisations.
- Onboard, train and transition offshore processing teams.
- Represent Business Services to ensure successful implementation of business initiatives.




- Automate manual journals and improve the integrity of financial results.
- Streamline accounting processes and implement best‑practice standardisation.

Balance Sheet, Audit & Compliance

- Perform secondary review of key balance sheet reconciliations with robust controls.
- Provide analytical reviews to generate actionable financial insights.
- Guide complex balance sheet reconciliations and support audit periods.
- Coordinate and deliver external auditor requests and requirements.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of progressive finance experience in shared services or global business services, preferably with retail accounting.
- Experience with offshore or outsourced shared service delivery models.
- Process optimisation experience, leveraging technology, data, and best practices.
- Solid business partnering and influencing skills.
- Experience with SAP S/4 HANA, Great Plains or Dynamics 365.
- Accounting professional qualification (e.g., CA, CPA, CIMA).
- Experience in finance technology programmes, including SAP ERP implementations.
- Change management experience and ability to embed new capabilities.

Key Performance Indicators

- Identify and manage pre‑ and post‑SAP go‑live testing and performance metrics.
- Maintain ongoing performance and service levels.
- Progressively simplify, standardise and optimise processes.
- Achieve positive outcomes in external and internal audit and risk reviews.
- Ensure high stakeholder engagement and satisfaction.
