Senior Child Safety Practitioner - Aboriginal Intensive Family Support (50(d))

Department of Communities WA – Rockingham WA

Senior Child Safety Practitioner/Officer – Aboriginal Intensive Family Support (50(d)) is an essential role dedicated to engaging with identified at‑risk Aboriginal families to prevent children from entering out of home care. The position works closely with district staff and others to develop community and family capacity to provide a safe environment for children and other vulnerable people.

The aim is to strengthen families’ capacities to provide protected care by increasing child safety through the Intensive Family Support approach, providing intensive in‑home support services and case management for Aboriginal children in ways that are:

- practical and flexible;
- in alignment with the Department’s case plan with the family;
- responsive to the cultural needs of the family.

Qualification Requirements: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or a relevant human services area to be eligible for this position.



All overseas qualifications must be assessed for Australian equivalency.
