About the role
Sonic Pathology Australia is seeking a Revenue Assurance & Financial Accounting Business Partner to support revenue assurance, divisional reporting and finance operations across our national pathology network. This role will analyse revenue and pricing data, identify opportunities to improve billing integrity and collections performance, and provide clear financial insights to support operational and commercial decision-making. The role will also support month-end and year-end reporting for divisional entities and contribute to key projects, tenders, budgets, forecasts and ad-hoc reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
(1) Revenue Assurance
(a) Analyse revenue data (pricing, volumes) across all practices to identify:
(i) Additional revenue / pricing opportunities
(ii) Insights into performance drivers
(iii) Insights into profitability of testing
(b) Identify any process gaps in revenue recognition
(c) Identify opportunities to improve payments process and doubtful debts recovery.
(2) Month end / Year end reporting – Divisional (holding) entities
(a) Prepare monthly management reporting and six-monthly external reporting packs with commentary
(b) Manage trial balances and prepare supporting reconciliations for fixed assets, bank, inter-company, debtors, creditors, provisions and stocktakes
(3) Other
(a) Modelling for key projects/tenders impacting the Division
(b) Assist with preparation and reporting of Sonic Genetics virtual P&L;
(c)
Prepare Budgets & Forecasts for Division
(d) Departmental and other ad-hoc reporting
(e) Prepare Tax & FBT returns, BAS, Insurance declarations
(f) ESG reporting
(g) D365 Transformation project
(h) Support in Accounts Payable tasks
What we're looking for
You are a pragmatic and collaborative finance qualified with strong revenue and accounting experience and the ability to work across complex environments.
You bring:
- Finance / accounting accreditation (CA or CPA) and at least 5 years experience in financial accounting
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority
- A structured and analytical approach, with the ability to translate strategy into practical outcomes
- Strong communication and relationship‑building capability across clinical and operational teams
- Valid Australian work visa or work rights to work in Australia
