The Roles – On-Train Crew (Stewards and Guest Service Attendants)

We're looking for passionate team members who love delivering exceptional guest service, enjoy sharing stories, and thrive in an environment where every day is an adventure. There is a unique opportunity to join our on-train crew in Strahan for the 2026-27 season, running from approximately September to May. Every journey tells a story, and as a Steward, you'll help bring it to life. You'll be the friendly face that welcomes guests, delivers outstanding service, and creates memorable experiences on board. Whether serving delicious food and beverages in our Premium carriage or sharing fascinating stories and local insights in our Standard carriage, you'll connect with people from around the world while showcasing the very best of Tasmanian hospitality. If you love working with people, thrive in a quick-paced environment, and enjoy making every interaction count, we'd love to welcome you aboard.

What you’ll do

- Deliver warm, professional and memorable hospitality service
- Share the stories and history of the railway and its region
- Maintain clean carriages and stations that are safe and welcoming




- Work in collaboration with other team members to create a genuine and supportive environment
- Work to tight schedules while staying calm under pressure

What you’ll bring

- A genuine interest and passion for connecting with people from all horizons/ backgrounds/ cultures
- Food and beverage OR guiding experience (bonus point for both)
- RSA (or willing to obtain)
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Reliability and adaptability
- High standards and attention to details
- Current police check (or willing to obtain) and ability to pass a Category 3 Rail Medical
- A valid Driver’s licence and own vehicle strongly preferred
- Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster
