Wunan delivers the Journey to Empowerment Program in the East Kimberley, Provide direct mentoring, support and referrals to clients, ensuring culturally safe, strengths-based service delivery.
Wunan is seeking a mentor who has Experience supporting vulnerable individuals, strong communication, record keeping skills, cultural safety knowledge to work with a team of enthusiastic team members working in a culturally safe environment.
Key Duties
- The Youth Coordinator will work alongside existing youth services and strengthen coordinated, place-based and culturally appropriate responses to youth engagement and crime prevention.
- Focus on engaging young people aged 8-25 years through the development and delivery of structured, culturally safe programs that promote positive engagement, prosocial behaviour, and connection to culture and community.
- Include activities that foster positive role modelling, build life skills,
and create pathways into education, training, and employment. Deliver one on one mentoring and practical support.
Requirements of the role
Essential Criteria:
- Experience supporting vulnerable individuals, strong communication, record keeping skills, cultural safety knowledge.
Desirable criteria:
- Cert III/IV Community Services; mentoring or youth work experience.
Pre-employment requirements
☒ Satisfactory Criminal History Check (not older than 6 months)
☒ Current Working with children clearance
☒ Current Australian unrestricted ‘C’ class Driver’s license
