Aspire Academics is an in-person tutoring centre in Truganina supporting students from Years 3 to 12. We help students build genuine understanding, strong writing and reading skills, and the confidence to do their best. We are expanding our English program and looking for a talented, dedicated English teacher or tutor to join our team.
The role
We are hiring an English specialist to work across one or more of:
Primary English (Years 3 to 6): reading, comprehension, spelling and grammar, and foundational writing
Secondary English (Years 7 to 10): text analysis, comprehension, and essay, creative and persuasive writing
You will help students strengthen their reading and writing and develop genuine confidence with language. Hours are versatile: casual/sessional or ongoing part time, including after-school and weekend sessions. VCE English is covered by our separate VCE listing; if you can also teach VCE English, please mention it.
What we are looking for
A strong background in English (relevant tertiary study, teaching experience,
or an excellent academic record in the subject)
The ability to teach writing and analysis clearly, patiently and encouragingly
Reliability, professionalism and a warm manner with young people
Full working rights in Australia
A valid Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one before commencing)
Desirable (not essential)
Prior tutoring or teaching experience in English
Experience supporting essay and creative writing
Current university study or a completed degree in a relevant field
