About the Orange Aquatic Centre
A purpose‐built facility completed in ****, the Aquatic Centre includes heated indoor and outdoor pools, diving facilities, beach volleyball and basketball courts, and a kiosk and café. Open year‐round with aqua aerobics, water polo and a large swim school, it's an excellent environment to learn and enjoy vital water skills.
Job / Responsibilities
The Duty Supervisor oversees daily operations of the Aquatic Centre, including supervision of staff, water quality, facility maintenance, customer service and work health and safety obligations. Duties include:
Supervising all staff, directing and managing daily activities, compliance, rotations and breaks; assisting with lifeguard training; responding to escalated issues
Ensuring opening and closing procedures are followed
Addressing customer complaints satisfactorily
Implementing rosters, procedures and systems, including calling in staff to cover absences
Assisting with day‐to‐day operational duties (e.g. lifeguarding) as required
This position operates across a 7‐day roster, with starts as early as 5am and finishes as late as 8pm (9pm on Thursdays during Water Polo season).
Skills / Experience
To be successful in this role you will have:
Relevant previous experience in the supervision of staff
Current Royal Life Saving Society Australia Pool Lifeguard Certificate
Current Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) certificate
Chemical Handling Certificate/Statement of Attainment or ability to acquire within 3 months
Exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills
Current NSW Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain prior to commencement)
Ability to obtain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
