This is an outstanding prospect for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys variety, wants closer exposure to business decision-making, and is looking to develop into a well‐rounded in‐house legal professional.
Reporting to the Regional General Counsel, APAC, you'll join a collaborative and high‐performing legal team that partners closely with business leaders across Australia and New Zealand.
You'll gain exposure to a broad range of legal matters and play an important role in helping the business manage risk while achieving its strategic objectives.About the JobAs Legal Counsel, you will provide practical, commercially focused legal advice across a variety of areas, including commercial contracts, procurement, disputes, property, operations, compliance, technology and corporate matters.




This role is based at both our Macquarie Park and Sydney CBD offices with flexible hybrid work arrangements (2-3 days/week in the office).
Key responsibilitiesAdvising business stakeholders on day‐to‐day legal issues across Australia and New ZealandDrafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of customer, supplier and commercial agreementsSupporting business teams on procurement, technology, digital and operational initiativesAssisting with dispute resolution matters and the management of external legal advisorsAdvising on property, leasing and operational mattersIdentifying and mitigating legal and commercial risks across business activitiesMonitoring legal and regulatory developments relevant to the organisationSupporting strategic projects and transactions, including acquisitions and integration activities where requiredContributing to legal knowledge sharing, training and continuous improvement initiatives across the legal functionWhat will ensure your successWe're looking for an adaptable and commercially minded lawyer who enjoys variety and takes a pragmatic approach to problem solving.You will bringA law degree and admission as a solicitor in AustraliaApproximately 4-7 years' post‐qualification experience gained in a reputable law firm and/or in‐house environmentStrong drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skillsExperience advising on commercial contracts and general corporate or commercial legal mattersA practical, solutions-focused mindset and sound commercial judgementThe ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomouslyStrong communication skills and confidence engaging with a broad range of stakeholdersCuriosity, initiative and a willingness to work across diverse legal issuesPrevious secondment or in‐house experience will be highly regarded but is not essential.About BramblesUnder the CHEP brand, Brambles helps move more goods, to more people, in more places than any other organisation on earth.
