Balco is one of Australia’s leading processors and exporters of hay/straw, with a network of loyal growers and an expanding overseas market.

With the 2026 harvest approaching, we are seeking casuals to fill different roles in WA, commencing August to mid-September 2026.

HAY CORER

The successful applicants will be responsible for collecting hay samples and liaising with growers around the Wheatbelt. You will be allocated an area based on your home location.

To be successful in this role you will need:

- Some knowledge of farming practices (cropping / hay production) preferred

- A good work ethic

- Excellent time management

- Sound communication skills

- Positive attention to detail

- Current Drivers License and 4WD vehicle

You will need to be able to work extended hours during peak period. Weekend work will be required. This role will also require you to provide your own comprehensively insured diesel 4WD vehicle/ute. An allowance will be paid on a per kilometer basis.

HAY TESTER





Based at the Brookton processing plant, you will be responsible for moisture testing and preparing hay samples, data entry and weighbridge (receivables) duties.

To be successful in this role you will need:

- Some knowledge of farming practices (cropping / hay production) preferred

- A good work ethic

- Excellent time management

- Sound communication skills

- Good attention to detail

- Work well in a team environment

- Current Drivers License

- Fit and able to fulfill duties across various shifts all days of the week
