Today, with five operating plants across five states, Boortmalt is ideally positioned to access Australia’s premium barley-growing regions, ensuring the delivery of high-quality malt to our brewing and distilling customers locally and also to export markets in Asia and South America.

We are seeking a Maintenance Electrician to join our Forrestfield team in Perth. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll play a key part in maintaining and supporting our manufacturing plant and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

You are a self-starter and take a proactive approach to your work. You ensure that our manufacturing equipment is maintained in a safe, cost effective and sustainable manner helping us to achieve customer quality specifications and requirements. You are able to build professional relationships at all levels within the organisation, displaying cultural understanding, resilience and an inclusive mindset. As a great communicator and problem solver, you look for and implement continuous improvement opportunities so that together we can make the finest malt for our local and international brewing, distilling and food industries.

Requirements

- Responsible for the electrical service and maintenance of plant equipment
- Responsible for the input of work requests into Maximo for requested and completed work
- Perform fault finding/diagnosis of electrical equipment
- Adhere to work and safety instructions by taking an active role in contributing to building a safety culture
- Interact with high voltage switching gear
- Maintain,



replace and repair devices and instrumentation
- Knowledge of installation and maintenance of electrical equipment in hazardous areas
- Programming and configuration of ABB electrical drives
- Create and implement easy plant electrical projects to improve reliability and efficiency
- Interacting with and programming of PLC software
- Ensure equipment reliability is maintained to meet energy roadmap targets
- Work to achieve a zero-harm work environment and strive for continuous improvement
- Actively participate in investigations such as root cause analysis
- Required to attend and maintain our Bibra Lake facility from time to time
- Reporting of critical stock level spares
- Ensure worksheets and equipment history are kept updated

What we’re looking for

- A-grade electrical license - required
- Electrical trade certificate (fitter/mechanic) - desirable
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a food production or similar environment
- Experienced in fault-finding, troubleshooting and problem solving
- Experienced in process control and automation
- High voltage switching operations qualification
- Experience and proficiency in instrumentation and control
- Experience with Siemens Program Logic Controller (PLC)
- Fluent in English (speak, read and write)
- Available to work afternoon shifts and participate in site’s on-call roster system where equipment failure or shutdowns dictate
- Additional licensing such as forklift, working at heights, confined space, EWP/scissor lift
- First Aid certification including low voltage rescue and CPR
