Remuneration: $37.21 - $43.23 per hour, including superannuation and leave loading.

About the Role

School Learning Support Officers provide support for students with identified diverse learning needs, including disability, in classrooms and other learning environments under the direction and supervision of a teacher. Support includes student welfare, health and wellbeing activities, and may extend to specific streams such as pre‑school, vision support, hearing support, and bilingual settings.

Essential Requirements

- On appointment must be working towards or hold an Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) approved Certificate III in Children’s Services or Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
- Holding a Working with Children Check Clearance.
- Completion of mandatory training required by the Department of Education and willingness to undertake first aid training relevant to the role.
- Training to administer medications provided based on student needs.




- Health support training provided based on student needs (subject to transition provisions).

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work with students with emotional, physical or intellectual disabilities.
- Commitment to protecting and promoting the safety, wellbeing and rights of all children.
- Ability to work with young children.
- Awareness of the needs of young children.

Conditions

If you are “working towards” an ACECQA approved Certificate III, you will be appointed on a temporary basis until completion of the approved qualification. Failure to complete within twelve months from your entry on duty date will result in cessation of temporary employment.

This position is anticipated to commence on Day 1 of Term 4 – 12 October 2026. There are three positions available.
