About the School

Casula High School is a comprehensive, coeducational setting that has an enrolment of approximately 1250 students, including 3.6% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, 51% EAL/D, 3.3% refugee background and 78% students from a non-English speaking background. Casula High School has a Support Unit consisting of one mild intellectual disability class, two autism classes and one moderate intellectual disability class.

Specific Selection Criteria

- Demonstrated capacity to lead teachers in implementing high‑impact teaching strategies and effective assessment practices to support student achievement,



in particular at the top bands in the HSC.
- Highly effective organisational and communication skills with ability to ensure NESA and DoE compliance in Stage 6.
- Proven ability to mentor and support students to maximise student engagement by providing meaningful postschool pathways for all students in years 10 to 12.
- Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively as part of a school executive to effectively implement a strategic school vision and the NSW Plan for Public Education.

General Selection Criteria

- Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
- Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
- Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
- Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
