Apprentice Heavy Diesel Mechanic - 1st, 2nd or 3rd Year

In the world of linehaul transport, reliability and compliance are everything, our diesel mechanics play a critical role keeping our trucks safe, roadworthy, and on schedule.

We’re a busy maintenance workshop servicing our national linehaul fleet, local MR and HR trucks, trailers, dollys, and more. As part of the team, you’ll help keep Australia’s freight moving while building your skills for the future.

The Role

We’re looking for a 1st, 2nd or 3rd year Apprentice Heavy Diesel Mechanic completing (or enrolled in) a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology.

What You’ll Gain

Real-world experience working on the following:

- Linehaul trucks, local MR/HR trucks, trailers, dollys
- Trailer upgrades to EBS
- Welding and structural repairs
- Servicing
- Diagnostics
- In-cab repairs

What You’ll Need

- Must be enrolled in or currently completing Cert III in Heavy Diesel
- A genuine interest in the transport and heavy vehicle industry
- Willingness to work in both indoor and outdoor yard (rain, hail or shine with wet‑weather gear supplied)
- Reliable transport or a way to get to work (the yard is not close to public transport)
- Good attitude and eagerness to learn

Hours

- Monday: 7.00 am – 5.00 pm




- Tuesday: 7.00 am – 5.30/6.00 pm (occasionally to 7–8 pm)
- Thursday: 7.00 am – 4.00 pm
- Friday: 6.00 am – 6–8 pm

Our team generally does 45–47 hours per week. Overtime is paid for all work outside ordinary hours. The weekly schedule may change based on workload and urgency of work.
