Role Overview
Due to multiple project awards, we are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Safety Advisors to support our existing and upcoming projects in the South West of WA. This full‑time position will involve Monday to Friday work, occasional weekend duties and periods away from home. You will collaborate with project delivery teams to ensure compliance with DTI policies, procedures and statutory responsibilities across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support operations to execute DTI and client HSE initiatives.
- Implement DTI HSE policy, procedures and standards through training, coaching and regular communication.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and assist with solution development and implementation.
- Coach and support local managers to develop and review HSE management plans and risk registers, consistent with site/project needs.
- Coach operational teams on subcontractor management requirements including review of SWMS, ATWPs, completion of DTI and site inductions, participation in pre‑starts, conduct of daily plant check sheets and compliance with HSEMPs.
- Collaborate with management and staff to promote a positive health and safety culture.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety, Occupational Health, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the Tier 1 construction industry, preferably with experience dealing with WA resource clients.
- Able to evaluate information quickly, identify key issues and formulate conclusions based on sound, practical judgement, experience and common sense.
- Ability to work under broad direction, exercise initiative and be innovative in problem solving.
- Certificate IV Training and Assessing or similar desirable.
- Lead ICAM Incident Investigation or similar required.
- Rail Systems knowledge and experience essential.
