The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced taxation and compliance professional to lead critical governance and remediation initiatives in a complex organisational environment.

- Position Status - Full-Time - Fixed Term to 30 June 2027

- Position Remuneration - LGOA Level 6 ($109,838 base annual salary)
- ($124,675 total remuneration package which is based on a permanent full-time employee and inclusive of 12% employer superannuation and 17.5% leave loading).

About You

You’re an experienced taxation or compliance professional with strong technical knowledge across areas such as Fringe Benefits Tax and Superannuation Guarantee. You take a practical, solutions focused approach to identifying risk, improving governance and delivering compliant outcomes, and can clearly communicate complex requirements to a broad range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the delivery of key taxation compliance projects, with a primary focus on Fringe Benefits Tax and Superannuation Guarantee obligations.
- Identify, assess and remediate taxation and compliance risks through retrospective reviews, analysis and practical governance solutions.
- Provide specialist taxation and compliance advice across finance, payroll, HR and procurement functions to support informed decision-making.
- Develop and embed clear policies, processes and controls to strengthen governance and ensure sustainable, business-as-usual compliance outcomes.

Skills & Experience

- Demonstrated experience leading taxation,



superannuation or compliance-focused projects within a complex public or corporate environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation obligations relevant to payroll and employment arrangements, including Fringe Benefits Tax and Superannuation Guarantee.
- Proven ability to identify compliance risk, undertake retrospective reviews and implement practical remediation and governance improvements.
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legislative requirements into clear, practical advice.

Qualifications

- Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience in taxation and financial compliance.
- Membership of, or progress toward, a recognised professional accounting body (desirable).
- Experience in a local government or public sector environment (desirable).
