Role Overview
As a Clinical Nurse - Mental Health and AOD at Acacia Prison, you will provide mental health assessment and intervention strategies for inmates at an advanced clinical nursing level. The position serves a prison population of approximately 1,520 prisoners and involves close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Your responsibilities include promoting rehabilitation and reintegration, meeting healthcare needs, and maintaining the highest professional standards.
This role is casual based in Wooroloo, WA, with the opportunity to transition to permanent.
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Minimum four years full‑time equivalent postgraduate experience in mental health nursing
- Postgraduate qualifications or work toward such, or extensive demonstrable clinical leadership experience
- Previous experience in a clinical leadership role
- Recent experience in a Mental Health service setting
- Experience in clinical assessment, care planning, review, and discharge planning of individual patients, including ongoing regular reviews
- Experience within a corrections or similar setting (desired)
- A commitment to cultural awareness and respecting diversity
