BACK UP VAN DRIVER/WAREHOUSE WORKER – MON-FRI (on call Sundays)

My Butler Service is the largest residential pick-up and delivery service for dry cleaning, laundry, ironing and more in Australia.

Our continued growth means that we are seeking a backup driver from our plant in Thornleigh NSW, (between Pennant Hills & Hornsby)

Job description

Backup Driver to our Regular Drivers for our Doorstep pick-up and delivery of dry cleaning and laundry orders to our residential customers based in suburbs across Sydney. This is your main duty. Should a driver not attend their shift, we will contact you around 6:30am to attend work asap to cover this route.

On call for backup of Sunday drivers

If you are not required for Backup that day, you will attend the plant from 9am-approx 5pm Monday-Friday (varied finish time) to perform other duties to assist within the business. This will include duties such as (but not limited too):

- A small Concierge route – You are the face of our business and will need to be confident in speaking to customers and well-dressed / presented
- Assist on any route if needed (incase any incidents or just extra help required)
- Perform any Urgent Pick up / Deliveries required
- Assist the Assembly team – Fast Paced, Quality control, loading conveyer, putting away order into route/stop order, loading orders onto route via the phone, loading orders onto to vans
- Performing Van inspections
- Hanger recycling
- Assist new drivers in training

Requirements:

- A current valid driver’s licence and copy of driving history record.
- Experience / confidence in driving a big van (7m long, MB Sprinter, High Roof, Long Wheelbase).




- A reasonable level of fitness (60-100 stops per day, delivering 3kg-15kg loads - average 5kg).
- Delivery Driving: 1 year (Preferred)
- A good level of English reading, writing and comprehension.
- Good level of experience with mobile phones, apps, and GPS.
- Strong face to face customer service skills.
- Accuracy, reliability & trustworthiness.
- A neat, clean, and professional appearance.
- A willingness to work in all weather conditions.
- Your own transport to and from work. You do not take vehicle home.
- Computer literate.
- Valuable attention to detail.
- Ability to work on your feet in a fast-paced working environment for a full 8 hour shift, including repeated lifting of packages weighing between 3kg to 15kg (average 5 kg).
- To weigh 120kgs or less to meet our van driver safe working load limit.

Further Details:

- Monday-Friday (5 days/week, 38+ hours), 9am-approx 5pm – with the ability to be called in earlier, stay later as required and on call Sundays
- Salary: $35 per hour
- Start ASAP.
- Based at our plant in Thornleigh, NSW
