We are seeking a passionate and experienced Trainer & Assessor to deliver the Certificate III in Pathology Collection (HLT37525) on a casual or part-time basis.
About the Role
The successful applicant will deliver high-quality face-to-face training and assessment, ensuring compliance with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and N K Training Centre’s policies and procedures.
This role is ideal for an experienced pathology collector/phlebotomist who is passionate about developing the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality, engaging face-to-face training and assessment.
* Conduct practical demonstrations, simulated workplace activities and competency-based assessments.
* Assess student competency in accordance with the Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence.
* Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
* Support students throughout their learning journey, including work placement requirements.
* Maintain accurate student records and assessment documentation.
* Participate in validation, moderation and continuous improvement activities.
* Ensure all training and assessment practices comply with the Standards for RTOs and N K Training Centre’s policies and procedures.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the current trainer and assessor requirements.
Vocational Competency
* Hold HLT37525 Certificate III in Pathology Collection or a higher relevant qualification in pathology or laboratory medicine (or an equivalent qualification that demonstrates vocational competency).
Training & Assessment Credentials
Hold one of the following:
* TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or
* An assessor/trainer credential that meets the current requirements under the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).
Industry Experience
Applicants must demonstrate:
* Current industry skills directly relevant to pathology collection.
* Recent experience working as a blood collector/phlebotomist, preferably within the last two years.
* Experience using current pathology collection procedures, infection prevention and control practices, patient identification protocols, specimen handling and workplace documentation.
Other Requirements
* Current National Police Check.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Computer literacy and ability to use Microsoft Office and online learning systems.
* Ability to deliver face-to-face training.
Desirable
* Previous experience delivering nationally recognised vocational education and training.
* Knowledge of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).
* Experience using student management systems and learning management systems.
* Current First Aid qualification.
