St Gerard’s Catholic Primary School is a co-educational school from Kindergarten to Year Six, committed to providing an outstanding, faith-filled education in a safe, secure, and caring environment.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Finance Officer to join our vibrant and supportive learning community.

This is a Level 5 part-time ongoing position working 5 days per week, 48 weeks per year (Negotiable)

This role plays an important part in supporting the effective operation of the school, working closely with the Principal and leadership team to ensure sound financial management and administrative support.

For applicants new to Catholic Education Western Australia, appropriate training and support will be provided.

About The Role

- Manage accounts receivable and payable processes
- Manage payroll processes and prepare employment contracts
- Prepare and submit Business Activity Statements (BAS)
- Maintain general ledger processes and financial records
- Support budgeting, reporting, and compliance requirements
- Provide financial and administrative support to the Principal
- Assist the Principal with the financial management of capital projects and loans

This role requires a high level of organisation, attention to detail,



and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a school environment.

Selection Criteria

Essential

- A commitment to Catholic education and the ethos of a Catholic school
- Proven experience in bookkeeping and financial administration
- Sound understanding of accrual accounting practices
- Experience with financial procedures including accounts payable, accounts receivable, BAS, and general ledger processing
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail
- Flexibility and the ability to respond to changing priorities
- Initiative and the ability to work independently
- Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office and financial systems

Qualifications Required

Relevant tertiary or similar qualifications in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business Management or a related field, or equivalent experience

Current Working with Children Check.

Eligibility to work in Australia.

Desirable

- CPA or CA Accreditation.
- Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience using Administration of Schools (AoS) and CEWA systems.
- Experience supporting capital works, facilities management or school operations.
