The Opportunity

Our client, a leading national law firm, is seeking a Solicitor or Associate to join its growing General Insurance practice in Sydney.

This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience within a market-leading insurance team, working across a diverse range of defendant insurance matters. You'll gain exposure to complex litigated claims, work directly with insurer clients, and collaborate with an experienced national practice known for delivering practical, commercially focused advice.

The Role

- Manage a varied portfolio of defendant insurance matters from inception through to resolution.
- Act in public liability, property damage, and policy coverage disputes.
- Investigate claims, brief experts and Counsel,



and prepare matters for litigation.
- Represent insurer clients throughout the litigation process, including mediation and alternative dispute resolution.
- Draft clear, commercially focused legal advice and correspondence.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across a national insurance practice to deliver outstanding client outcomes.

Ideal Candidate

- 2/3+ years' post-admission experience in defendant general insurance.
- Experience defending public liability claims and managing litigated matters.
- Exposure to property damage and policy coverage matters will be highly regarded.
- Experience managing claims autonomously, including briefing experts and Counsel.
- Familiarity with NSW Courts and litigation processes.
- Solid negotiation, drafting, and client relationship management skills.
- A proactive, commercially minded approach with a genuine desire to develop your career within insurance litigation.
