At Toorak College, our Boarding House team plays an integral role in supporting each of our international and local boarders in their academic development and personal growth.

Roles and Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Boarding House Senior Supervisor to join our vibrant school community. In this role, you will support the wellbeing and development of our boarding students, fostering a safe, nurturing, and welcoming “home away from home” for our international and local boarders. You will use your strong management and interpersonal skills to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the Boarding House.

- Assist in the day‑to‑day operations and provide pastoral care, mentoring and guidance to students.
- Support the Head and Deputy Head of Boarding in managing staff while on shift and implementing day‑to‑day routines.
- Maintain high standards of student wellbeing, discipline and academic engagement.
- Foster a positive, inclusive and respectful boarding culture aligned with the School’s values.
- Build strong relationships with families and contribute to the wider School community.




- Sleepover duty during overnight shifts; primarily on weekends with occasional mid‑week shifts.
- Support the planning and delivery of a varied and engaging activities programme for boarders, assisting with excursions and in‑house activities as required.

This permanent part‑time position is predominantly term‑time only, including public holidays, and may include overnight shifts with accommodation provided. For the right candidate, a full‑time position may be negotiated during the recruitment process. Additional shifts may be available by mutual agreement, including during September school holidays and may complement a casual relief teaching position, which may also be discussed.

About You

You are passionate about providing a memorable and unique boarding experience and would suit an individual who has previous experience in educational boarding. Candidates may hold a qualification in education, psychology, youth work, or counselling.

- Demonstrated experience in a residential, pastoral care or school boarding environment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
- A calm and proactive demeanour, capable of managing sensitive issues with discretion.
- Committed to the development and care of young people.
- Willing to contribute to co‑curricular or after‑hours activities.
- Current WWCC, First Aid qualifications and completion of ABSA Training is advantageous.
- Cultural awareness and respect to ensure your success in a multicultural environment.
- Full driver’s licence and comfort in driving the school minibus is essential.
