General Stream Band 3 – Tasmanian State Service Award, $77,850 to $84,084 per annum.
Employment Type
Permanent, full-time – 73.50 hours per fortnight.

Summary
Responsible for maintaining the efficient and effective control of prisoner property, including running the statewide prisoner property store, cataloguing property, and developing and maintaining inventory control systems. The role requires excellent interpersonal skills, experience in high‑volume work areas, and the ability to operate autonomously while supervising a prisoner workforce.
Duties
- Develop and maintain systems to catalogue prisoner property in accordance with best practice in loss management.
- Manage and coordinate the provision of prisoner property services to all facilities on the Risdon Site.
- Supervise, induct and train the statewide property prisoner workforce in procedures and obligations, including section 33 duties during collection and distribution of property.
- Engage and liaise with facility reception staff and supervisors regarding prisoner property processes, requests, and court attendance in relation to property dispatching.
- Coordinate responses for prisoner complaint resolution processes relating to property.
- Maintain inventory control systems to ensure all received, stored and dispatched property is properly recorded and accounted for.
- Perform other duties within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected for this classification level.
Qualifications and Experience
- Understanding of prison operations or the ability to acquire such knowledge quickly.
- Previous experience operating in a prison workplace.
