- Analyse market trends and supplier landscapes to drive innovation, savings, and risk mitigation, leading tenders and negotiations

Supplier management & negotiation

- Build robust, collaborative partnerships with key suppliers to deliver quality and commercial outcomes
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and long‑term agreements while managing performance through KPIs and reviews

Range assortment & customer‑centric decision making

- Develop and optimise customer‑led assortments using insights, data, and brand strategy
- Use store and channel performance to guide range decisions and partner cross‑functionally to deliver omnichannel ranges

Inventory, demand & cost management

- Partner with planning to optimise inventory levels, lead times, and availability
- Identify cost‑reduction opportunities and manage total cost of ownership across the product lifecycle

Cross‑functional collaboration

- Collaborate closely with marketing, digital, supply chain, quality, finance, and store teams
- Provide insights to senior leadership and support product innovation and new supplier sourcing

Risk, compliance & governance

- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical sourcing standards, and regulatory requirements
- Identify and manage supplier and supply chain risks while maintaining accurate documentation and data integrity

Leadership & continuous improvement

- Mentor and develop a buyer and buying assistant,



promoting best‑practice buying
- Champion process improvement, data‑driven decision‑making, and strategic capability‑building initiatives
