This is an excellent opportunity for a Dental Hygienist or Oral Health Therapist seeking a flexible weekday position within an established hygiene program and a supportive clinical team.
About the Position
Our client is seeking a patient-focused Dental Hygienist or Oral Health Therapist to join the practice for 2–3 days per week.
The successful candidate will initially commence on a casual basis, with the intention of transitioning into a permanent position once both parties are confident the role is the right long-term fit.
The practice currently has one Dentist and two Hygienists sharing the hygiene workload across five days each week. This position has become available due to one of the existing Hygienists leaving, providing the successful candidate with the chance to step into an established role with an existing patient base and regular hygiene appointments.
This position would suit a clinician who enjoys preventative dentistry, periodontal care and building trusted, long-term relationships with patients.
All working days will fall between Monday and Friday, with no weekend work required.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing high-quality hygiene and preventative dental care
- Performing scale and cleans, periodontal charting and periodontal maintenance
- Completing gum health assessments and identifying areas of concern
- Providing fluoride treatments and fissure sealants
- Educating patients on oral hygiene, gum health and preventative care
- Supporting ongoing recall and maintenance programs
- Developing personalised oral health and home-care recommendations
- Providing a calm, friendly and reassuring patient experience
- Working collaboratively with the Dentist, Hygienists and wider support team
- Maintaining accurate patient records and clinical notes
- Upholding high infection control, sterilisation and compliance standards
- Supporting long-term maintenance for restorative and cosmetic patients
Depending on your experience and clinical scope, there may also be opportunities to assist with whitening consultations and tailored maintenance plans.
