An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Theatre Registered Nurse with skills in Anaesthetics and/or Scrub Scout nursing to join a leading regional hospital within a Queensland Health Service located in the beautifulWhitsunday region.
This short-term contract offers the chance to work within a supportive perioperative team while enjoying one of Australia's most sought-after coastal destinations.
About the Role
You will be responsible for delivering safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care within the operating theatre environment.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in Anaesthetics and/or Scrub Scout roles, with experience assisting in Caesarean Sections highly regarded.
The position requires flexibility to participate in an on-call roster, which may include weekends and rostered days off.
Essential Requirements
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Recent experience inTheatre Nursing - Anaesthetics and/or Scrub Scout
Ability to participate in an on-call roster
Advanced Life Support (ALS)
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Demonstrated knowledge of infection prevention and control practices
Medication management competency
Manual handling certification
Occupational Violence Prevention or equivalent training
Highly Desirable
Previous Queensland Health experience
Experience using electronic medical record systems including:
ieMR / SurgiNet
FirstNet
PowerChart
HBCIS
Evidence of EMR training or recognised prior learning
