What does being a CSO mean?
As a CSO, you'll be a voice for children and young people, ensuring their safety and wellbeing under the Child Protection Act ****.
You'll:Work closely with families, caregivers, and community organisationsDeliver statutory child protection services, including assessment, intervention, casework, and case management Attending court and writing affidavitsWorking with partner agencies and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community organisationsProvide safe, culturally informed, and respectful support to families from diverse backgroundsThis is challenging work — but it's also deeply rewarding.

As part of the Townsville CSSC, you'll work across some of the region's most stunning areas — including Ayr, Burdekin, Magnetic Island, Ingham, Hinchinbrook, Charters Towers, Hughenden and Palm Island — with occasional overnight travel.
