We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Advisor to join our team supporting the Confluence Water Joint Venture at Downer Energy and Utilities, based in Chatswood.

Opportunity

In this role, you will play a key part in fostering a solid Zero Harm culture across operations, ensuring our people can thrive while working safely and without harm to the communities and environments we operate in. Reporting to the Health and Safety Business Partner, you will partner closely with operational teams, leaders and stakeholders to deliver consistent and effective health, safety, workplace and sustainability practices. You will contribute to the implementation of the Zero Harm Roadmap, support innovation initiatives and embed best practice standards across all operational functions. This is a hands on role requiring strong field presence, coaching capability and the ability to influence outcomes across a diverse workforce. The role may involve travel, flexible schedule and occasional night shifts aligned with operational requirements.

Qualifications
A Diploma or Certificate in Health and Safety, or willingness to obtain one
Experience in a health, safety and environment role within a high risk industry such as construction or infrastructure
Strong knowledge of risk management,



incident investigation and injury management practices
Experience conducting audits and supporting compliance with WHS legislation and standards
Ability to coach, mentor and influence operational teams to improve safety performance
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders
Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to work across multiple priorities
Proficiency in reporting tools and systems with exposure to data analysis and insights
A leader who builds relationships across the business and actively contributes to improving safety maturity and performance
