About the Opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Project Controls and Planning professional (Senior Consultant) to join our growing Sydney team, with a view to playing a key role in shaping Australia’s renewable energy future by contributing to exciting energy projects, with opportunities to broaden your experience across a range of innovative initiatives.

This role is ideal for candidates with demonstrated experience in project controls, particularly planning and scheduling, who are interested in building their career by working on diverse and challenging projects. Successful candidates will work alongside experienced consultants and project managers across a range of engineering and construction environments.

Through supporting high-quality delivery across client projects, you’ll work closely with technical teams, contributing to schedule analysis and broader project controls activities, and engaging with client stakeholders. This role suits someone who enjoys problem-solving, collaboration and continuous learning, and who is looking to develop a long-term career in project controls, planning and scheduling and consultancy.

You will support TBH’s planning and scheduling services across project, programme and portfolio environments. This includes providing planning services and client-facing delivery across sectors including energy, water and infrastructure, both domestically and internationally. In addition, you will have the opportunity to provide strategic advisory services to support investment and business case decisions, disputes, claims and variation assessments, cost control, estimating and benchmarking,



commercial advisory and contract management.

As a Senior Consultant you’ll be responsible for:

- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and client stakeholders through clear and professional communication
- Providing mentorship and support to team members, fostering a collaborative environment, driving project achievement
- Developing and maintaining construction schedules from drawings and project documentation
- Managing, coordinating and reporting on progress updates and resequencing activities to mitigate schedule slippage
- Validating and reviewing third-party schedules, including critical path, logic and scope checks
- Developing integrated master schedules with dynamic interdependencies between sub projects in separate programmes
- Ensuring alignment between cost, risk and schedule by developing and maintaining cost-loaded and resource-loaded schedules
- Preparing schedule management documentation, including basis of schedule outputs
- Supporting design programming, baseline reviews and shutdown planning activities

What you’ll bring

As our successful candidate you'll bring:

- A relevant degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Business or similar
- 4 -5 years’ cumulative experience in planning & scheduling or project management within construction, with emphasis given to experience in energy and other infrastructure (road, rail, aviation) sectors
- 1 – 2 years of site experience (desirable but not essential)
- An understanding of how major projects are developed and delivered
- Experience with reporting on complex projects to multiple stakeholders
- A proven record of providing commercial and contractual advice
- Proficiency in tools such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project (or equivalent)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail
- The ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, including report writing and stakeholder engagement




- Prior experience on projects of $100 million+ (desirable but not essential)
- Previous consultancy or professional services experience (desirable but not essential)
