Provide Psychological First
Aid to people affected by emergencies, helping them feel safe, supported, and empowered.

Our volunteering opportunity We’re looking for compassionate, reliable volunteers who are ready to support their communities when it matters most. This is not a fixed-schedule role—emergencies don’t follow a timetable. Instead, you’ll be part of a trained team, ready to step in when needed, while still choosing when you’re available to volunteer.
Your role as an NSW Casual Recovery Volunteer You’ll work locally in your community, helping people recover after emergencies by: Providing emotional and practical support to individuals and families
Delivering Psychological First Aid in Recovery Centres
Responding to enquiries and connecting people with relevant services and support agencies

Confidence with basic technology – You’re comfortable using online systems for training, communication, and rostering. Volunteering role compliance requirements Complete a National Police Check, which will be organised and fully funded by Australian Red Cross.
Hold a current Working with Children Check, or willingness to apply for one.
