Established over 32 years ago as a Family Day Care provider, Kentish has continued to grow and expand its services to support children, young people and families across the Northern Territory. The Role

Kentish is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Family Day Care Coordinator to support the growth and development of our Family Day Care program across Alice Springs, Katherine and Darwin.

This position is an exciting opportunity for an experienced early childhood professional who is passionate about mentoring educators, strengthening quality practice and supporting the delivery of high-quality Family Day Care services across the Northern Territory.

The successful applicant will play a key role in supporting existing educators, recruiting new educators, and expanding the program, while ensuring compliance with the National Quality Framework, Family Assistance Law, and regulatory requirements.

Tasks & Responsibilities

The Family Day Care Coordinator will:

Oversee the administration and compliance requirements associated with the Child Care Management System (CCMS) and Family Assistance Law.

Manage enrolment processes, timesheet submissions, attendance records and gap fee collection in collaboration with the finance team.

Support accurate and timely reporting and documentation requirements.

Recruit, support and induct new Family Day Care educators.

Work alongside the Early Childhood Team Leader to support new educator start-up processes,



including establishing compliant learning environments and understanding regulatory requirements.

Conduct educator support visits, provide mentoring and assist educators to develop high-quality educational programs.

Support educators to understand and implement the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standards and approved learning frameworks.

Build strong relationships with educators, families and community stakeholders.

Contribute to the ongoing growth, sustainability and continuous improvement of the Family Day Care program.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working within the early childhood education and care sector.

Has a strong understanding of the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standards and regulatory requirements.

Has experience supporting, mentoring or leading educators.

Is confident working with compliance systems, documentation and administration processes.

Enjoys building relationships and supporting others to achieve quality outcomes.

Is enthusiastic, organised and passionate about improving outcomes for children and families.

Can work independently while also being part of a supportive leadership team.

Holds a Diploma qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care, a current Ochre Card, has a satisfactory National Police Clearance, and holds a Driver’s Licence.

Experience in Family Day Care, coordination roles or quality improvement processes will be highly regarded.
