Build the future of regional WA water infrastructure

McConnell Dowell, in joint venture with SRG Global, has been awarded the Goldfields Pipeline Renewal Project, a critical infrastructure program that will improve water security and network reliability across regional Western Australia.

The project includes:

- Replacement and upgrade of 44.5km of ageing pipeline through the Shires of Merredin, Westonia and Yilgarn.
- Installation of new pipeline sections alongside the existing route.
- Major valve upgrades to improve network reliability.
- Expansion of the Binduli Reservoir in Kalgoorlie, doubling water storage capacity.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Safety Advisor to join the project team and play a key role in driving a proactive safety culture across this significant regional infrastructure project.

About the Role

Reporting to the Project Leadership Team, you will provide visible safety leadership across construction activities, ensuring compliance with project, client and legislative requirements while supporting the delivery of a robust, positive safety culture.

Key responsibilities include:

- Conduct site inspections, audits and field leadership activities to ensure compliance with project, legislative and client requirements.
- Lead incident investigations,



corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support supervisors and subcontractors with risk assessments, safe work planning and critical risk management processes, including CRAWs.
- Deliver inductions, toolbox talks and safety communications while monitoring contractor compliance and project HSE performance.

About You

You will be a safety professional who enjoys being visible in the field, building relationships and influencing positive safety outcomes.

To be successful, you will ideally have:

- Experience in a Senior Safety Advisor, HSE Advisor or similar role within construction, civil infrastructure, resources or utilities projects.
- Pipeline, water infrastructure, linear infrastructure or utilities project experience, with direct pipeline construction experience highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary safety management systems, risk management and incident investigation processes.
- Proven ability to influence and engage effectively with frontline crews, supervisors and subcontractors.
- Strong communication, reporting and stakeholder management skills, coupled with a proactive and solutions-focused approach to safety leadership.
