Position Information
Bert Oldfield Public School is a K-6 primary school in Seven Hills. We welcome students from all backgrounds and cultures. The school serves a diverse community with a large range of socio-economic backgrounds. We have an Aboriginal population of 4% and a large student population of approximately 70% that identify as having a language background other then English.
We value all our learners as individuals and our caring and passionate teaching staff promote excellence in teaching through a commitment to continuous professional learning. The whole school community values and respects individuals and their beliefs.
Bert Oldfield Public School has an enrolment of approximately 190 students and a proud tradition of providing quality inclusive and equitable public education. We currently have 8 mainstream classes,
and 1 support class for students with a variety of complex needs. We anticipate that the school will grow over the coming years.

This position will commence in 2027.
Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach special education and/or demonstrated experience or a willingness to teach students with disabilities, including those with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disabilities.
- Demonstrated capacity to plan, deliver and evaluate tailored programs with a focus on identified student needs and strengths, enhancing engagement and wellbeing.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills that promote collaboration with staff and positive partnerships with parents, carers, community members, support agencies, and students.
- High-quality classroom practice and management skills to create an inclusive, positive learning environment, enabling all students to connect, succeed and thrive in a sensory friendly setting.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
